Ancestry: Birth Record: Jonathan C Gordon parent George F R Gorden, Lucinda Rachel Shaw at Paulding Paulding Co, Crane Twp, OH 20 Feb 1840 died Nashville, TN on 9 May 1862. 1860 census, Carryall Twp: George Gordon 46, farmer, born NY, FAG 31132375–all others born OH, Lucinda 36, FAG 37497518, Jonathan 20 (died in 1862 in Nashville of disease), Rennels (Reynolds Gordon probably) 19, Sarah 17, George 15 (George Gordon died a POW in SC after being at Andersonville), Martha 13, Caroline 11, William 9, Albert 7, Harriet 5, Florence 4, Ann 3, Samuel 6/12. US Register of Deaths of Volunteers, Reynolds Gordon died 2 Aug 1864 at G.H. #1 at Nashville of “GSW right shoulder” signed by BB Breed. US National Cemetery Internment forms for Nashville National, J14107 “originally buried in Nashville.” Handwritten US Burial Record has same info as internment card. Also has a J.C. Gordon (Jonathan C. Gordon) of Co G, 14th OH died May 10, 1862, at G.H. #7 at Nashville of “febris typhoides” per John R. Pirite, #A4630. George Gordon 1812-1871 in Banks Cemetery in Paulding County–close to a match in dates; Lucinda Gordon 1823-1891 in same cemetery but no links–birth date matches. 5 Letters written in 1861/1862 are in the narrative. FAG unknown-1862 with CW stone A4630. Archives. Hayes Library–only Lucinda 1832-1890, age 68, spouse George, birth date s/b 1822. Paulding Obit file, was in Defiance Democrat.
